After Barclay died, his wife Teresita, Joseph Doyle’s mother-in-law, lived with the Doyle family for the rest of her life, outliving her husband by 38 years. Litigation with the army over the land dispute continued with Joseph Doyle, who finally won out. WebEdwin was captaured at Harpers Ferry, and was hanged on 16 December 1859. Barclay escaped, but subsequently was killed fighting in the Civil War. Two days before Edwin's execution, he wrote a "last" letter to his Uncle Joshua Coppock, in Salem Ohio.
