In this spectrometer a 550 MBq 63 Ni β-radiation source was applied for the ionisation of the carrier gas (air). It was connected to a polar multicapillary column (MCC, type OV-5, Sibertech Ltd, Novosibirsk, Russia) used as the pre-separation unit.
